About NCLN

The Northern California Learning Network (NCLN) is one of seven regional networks established by  the California Community Colleges’ Success Network (3CSN). With 3CSN’s infrastructure and support, each region’s coordinator  facilitates professional development events  centered on effective practices for promoting student success across disciplines, programs, and campuses.  3CSN’s Theory of Change emphasizes that  through training on networking and using action research methodologies, teachers will transform their environments and identity to create communities of practice that will lead to powerful classrooms and working across campuses, ultimately resulting in greater student success.  3CSN’s Communities of Practice center on Acceleration, Reading Apprenticeship, and Habits of Mind.   NCLN  organizes events related to these communities of practice as well as events that focus on the needs of colleges and faculty within the Northern California region.  These events, which vary in length, are held at host colleges throughout the region and allow faculty from several campuses to come together to discuss and examine current practices and their impact on basic skills students’ success.  These experiences provide the foundation upon which transformation begins and success builds.
