RA STEM Event Made an Impact at SRJC!

On November 21, STEM educators representing 11 colleges in Northern California attended “Deeper STEM Learning Through Metacognitive Conversation: a Reading Apprenticeship Workshop” hosted by Santa Rosa Junior College’s Petaluma Campus. Presenters Ann Foster, Denise Hum, Theresa Martin and Lauren Servais introduced participants to the Reading Apprenticeship Framework and Routines.

Participants also learned about an exciting chance to receive innovative and comprehensive professional learning by applying to the Reading Apprenticeship Community College STEM Network, which is an effort funded by The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to increase retention and success of all STEM students, including student populations underrepresented in STEM careers.
